How to Get Rid of Diaper Rash Using Sprinkle CornstarchDiaper rash is a skin condition which is well known among the parents of children in the age below two years. Diaper rash is a painful inflammation of skin in the area of genitals, thighs and buttocks. Since the problem can occur regularly, it worries the parents a lot. Learn the most frequent reasons of diaper rash and the way you can address the problem with the use of cornstarch and other remedies. In addition to it, you will find information about the prevention of this malaise.

The Most Frequent Causes of Diaper Rash

One of the most popular causes of diaper rash is the wet in the diaper. On the one hand, a diaper allows a child to feel dryness even if he or she has peed in the diaper. On the other hand, it is not healthy for a child to wear a dirty and especially wet diaper.

In such cases diaper rash can develop. A wet or dirty diaper becomes even more harmful if it doesn’t allow child’s skin to breath. Then, various pathogenic microorganisms can start proliferating quickly causing the inflammation of child’s skin.

Providing you do not change diapers too often, your child may be overexposed to stool. It is rather bad to the health of the skin. Thus, you should always change the diaper right after your child’s defecation.

Nevertheless, in some situations it may rather difficult to change the diaper quickly. Especially if your child is suffering from diarrhoea. In this case, it is extremely important to understand what has caused this health condition.

Some children can have diarrhoea after consuming milk. Although milk is basic food taken by young children, sometimes your child may experience problems with digesting it. For example, a child can have an allergy to cow milk.

Pay your attention to the fact that the proteins present in cow’s milk are different from those which can be found in the breast milk. A baby can consume these allergic cow’s proteins with the milk of its mother only in the case when the mother has already consumed cow’s milk. Then, these proteins can get into the breast milk and trigger an allergic reaction.

Bear in mind that this allergic reaction can be rather severe. Not only is it connected with diarrhoea, but also with hives, facial swelling, asthma and difficulties with breathing. Such an allergy is widespread among the children before three years old.

Another popular problem which can lead to diarrhoea and, as a result of it, to diaper rash is lactose intolerance. Lactose intolerance is extremely popular among adults, yet, young children normally do not have this problem since their organisms produce a sufficient amount of the enzyme used for lactose digestion.

This enzyme is called lactase. Still, if your child has recently had problems with the digestive tract caused by any type of intestinal or stomach infections, temporal lactose intolerance can occur. Bear in mind that milk allergy is a different health condition which is related to the problems with protein digestion whereas lactose intolerance is the intolerance of milk sugar.

Finally, there is another form of digestive problems caused by milk consumption which is milk intolerance. It is not the reaction of a child’s immune system; therefore, it isn’t called an allergy.

The problem is connected with the intestines of your child. When casein can’t be broken during the process of digestion, it is called milk intolerance. The main symptoms of this health condition are stomach pain, gas, bloating and diarrhoea.

It is also important to understand that only those diapers which have been made of synthetic materials, will keep wet. If the diaper is made of absolutely natural materials, your child will feel wet. If you use synthetic diapers, they can cause a reaction of child’s skin because of all the chemicals which can be found in the material.

It doesn’t mean that the producer of these diapers is using materials of low quality for the production of these diapers. It is just a normal reaction of delicate skin of a child. Yet, you should change the type of diapers in order to avoid further cases of diaper rash.

Pay your attention to the fact that diaper rash can also be the result of a yeast infection.

The Treatment of Diaper rash

If you are suspecting that the diaper rash is the result of diarrhoea caused by any problems with milk digestion, it is extremely important for you to carry out special diagnosis. If your doctor finds out milk intolerance or a milk allergy, you will need to give exclusively dairy-free food to your child in order to avoid the symptoms of an allergy.

Yet, if the problem is lactose intolerance, you will still be able to feed your child with milk. The doctor will prescribe special enzyme which should be added to the bottle with milk. This enzyme will help your child to digest the milk without any problems.

Now, you have learnt about the things which can be done in case your child is suffering from any problems triggered by milk consumption. Still, it is crucial for you to know how to treat the problem of diaper rash.

Many doctors do not recommend using special wet wipes for babies if they contain propylene glycol or alcohol when your child is suffering from diaper rash. These substances can be rather aggressive for delicate damaged skin and burn it. Furthermore, such wipes can spread the bacteria on the area.

It is also sensible to let your child stay without any diapers at all for as long as possible. This is the best way for allowing the skin to heal and protect it from further diaper rash.

Remember not to put the diaper on your child too tightly since this will provide excessive pressure and discomfort which can lead to the development of diaper rash. You should also avoid many-layered or bulky diapers. Plastic pants shouldn’t be worn if your child is suffering from diaper rash.

You can also try to make the urine of your child less concentrated, In order to do it, you should give the child more fluids to drink. The best beverage is pure water.
